Being fascinated by the small details that are often not obvious when looking at a picture of an entire aircraft, I like to 'get in close' sometimes.
Painting or drawing the personnel around the aircraft, gives me an opportunity to show some of that detail.
Not only that, but 'credit where credit's due'. There's a very skilled pilot, along with an entire team of dedicated people, enabling that aircraft to perform the impressive feat of flying we've just witnessed.
